Cookie Policy
Last updated: January 15, 2025
This Cookie Policy explains how L3K Network ("L3K," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies when you visit our website, use our platform, or interact with advertisements and offers distributed through our network. As a CPA performance marketing network, tracking technologies are fundamental to how we operate, enabling accurate conversion attribution, fraud detection, and payment processing. This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites function properly, improve user experience, and provide information to site owners. Cookies can be "first-party" (set by the website you are visiting) or "third-party" (set by a domain other than the one you are visiting). They can also be "session cookies" (deleted when you close your browser) or "persistent cookies" (remaining on your device for a set period or until you manually delete them).
2. Types of Cookies We Use
Essential Cookies
These cookies are strictly necessary for the operation of our platform. They enable core functionality such as user authentication, session management, security features, and load balancing. Without these cookies, our platform cannot function properly. Essential cookies include session identifiers that maintain your login state, CSRF tokens that protect against cross-site request forgery attacks, and preference cookies that remember your dashboard settings and display configurations. These cookies cannot be disabled.
Analytics Cookies
We use analytics cookies to understand how visitors interact with our website and platform. These cookies collect information about page visits, traffic sources, time spent on pages, and user navigation patterns. This data helps us improve our platform performance, identify technical issues, and optimize the user experience. We may use third-party analytics services such as Google Analytics, which set their own cookies. Analytics data is collected in aggregate form and does not personally identify individual users.
Advertising Cookies
As a performance marketing network, we use advertising cookies to serve relevant advertisements, limit the number of times you see a particular ad, and measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns. These cookies may be set by our advertising partners and allow them to build a profile of your interests to show you relevant ads on other websites. Advertising cookies track your browsing activity across websites and are used to deliver targeted advertising based on your online behavior.
Tracking and Conversion Cookies
These are the most critical cookies for our business operations. Conversion tracking cookies are placed when a user clicks on an affiliate link or advertisement distributed through our network. They enable us to accurately attribute conversions (such as sales, leads, or sign-ups) to the correct publisher, calculate commissions owed, detect fraudulent activity, and generate performance reports for our advertisers and publishers. Tracking cookies typically contain a unique click identifier, the originating publisher ID, the offer ID, a timestamp, and sub-tracking parameters. These cookies are essential to the operation of our CPA model and the fair compensation of our network partners.
3. Third-Party Cookies
In addition to our own cookies, various third parties may set cookies on your device when you use our platform or interact with offers distributed through our network. These third parties include:
- Advertisers: Our advertising partners may place cookies on your device to track conversions, verify traffic quality, and optimize their campaigns
- Analytics Providers: Services such as Google Analytics use cookies to help us analyze website traffic and usage patterns
- Fraud Detection Services: Third-party fraud prevention tools may set cookies to identify and block suspicious activity and non-human traffic
- Payment Processors: Our payment service providers may use cookies for transaction security and fraud prevention during payment processing
- Content Delivery Networks: CDN providers may set cookies for load balancing, performance optimization, and security purposes
4. Cookie Duration
The cookies we use have varying lifespans depending on their purpose:
- Session Cookies: These are temporary cookies that expire when you close your browser. They are used for session management and maintaining your login state
- Conversion Tracking Cookies: These typically persist for 30 to 90 days, depending on the specific offer's attribution window. Some offers may use shorter or longer tracking windows as specified in the offer terms
- Analytics Cookies: These generally persist for up to 2 years, allowing us to recognize returning visitors and understand long-term usage trends
- Preference Cookies: These persist for up to 1 year, remembering your dashboard settings and display preferences
- Advertising Cookies: These typically persist for up to 90 days, allowing for ad frequency capping and campaign measurement
5. Managing Cookies
You have several options for managing cookies:
- Browser Settings: Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can typically set your browser to block all cookies, accept all cookies, or notify you when a cookie is being set. Refer to your browser's help documentation for instructions on how to manage cookies
- Opt-Out Tools: You can opt out of interest-based advertising by visiting the Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA) at optout.aboutads.info, the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI) at optout.networkadvertising.org, or the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance (EDAA) at youronlinechoices.eu
- Mobile Device Settings: On mobile devices, you can limit ad tracking through your device settings. On iOS, navigate to Settings > Privacy > Tracking. On Android, navigate to Settings > Google > Ads
Please note that blocking or deleting cookies may affect the functionality of our platform. In particular, disabling tracking cookies will prevent accurate conversion attribution, which may affect commission payments to publishers and campaign reporting for advertisers. Essential cookies cannot be disabled without significantly impairing the functionality of our Services.
6. Tracking Technologies
In addition to cookies, we use the following tracking technologies as part of our performance marketing operations:
Tracking Pixels (Web Beacons)
We use tracking pixels, also known as web beacons or clear GIFs, to track conversions and verify that specific actions have been completed. A tracking pixel is a tiny, transparent image embedded in a web page or email that sends a request to our servers when loaded. Advertisers place conversion pixels on their confirmation or "thank you" pages, which fire when a user completes a desired action (such as a purchase or form submission), allowing us to record and attribute the conversion to the appropriate publisher.
Server-to-Server (S2S) Tracking
Server-to-server postback tracking is our preferred and most reliable conversion tracking method. Unlike cookie-based tracking, S2S tracking does not rely on the user's browser. Instead, when a conversion occurs, the advertiser's server sends a direct HTTP request to our tracking servers containing the conversion details and unique click identifier. This method is more accurate and resilient than pixel-based tracking because it is not affected by ad blockers, cookie restrictions, or browser privacy settings. We strongly encourage all advertisers to implement S2S tracking for the most accurate conversion attribution.
JavaScript Tags
We may use JavaScript tags on our website and platform to collect information about user interactions, page load times, and browser capabilities. These scripts enable dynamic content loading, real-time analytics, and enhanced functionality across our platform.
Device Fingerprinting
In certain circumstances, we may use device fingerprinting techniques as a supplementary method for fraud detection and prevention. Device fingerprinting collects information about your device configuration (such as browser type, operating system, screen resolution, installed plugins, and time zone) to create a unique identifier. This technology helps us identify patterns of fraudulent activity and protect the integrity of our network. We do not use device fingerprinting as a primary tracking method for conversion attribution.
7. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Cookie Policy periodically to stay informed about how we use cookies and related technologies. Your continued use of our Services after any changes to this Cookie Policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
